Pleased to Meet Christians on Campus

For the past three and a half years, I have had the pleasure of meeting with Christians on Campus. This fellowship has helped me grow in the Lord. Before I came to UT, I was already a Christian. One night I heard the Gospel on a radio broadcast. This message about how the Lord Jesus died for me, and how He could become my life touched me. After I prayed to receive Him, I had a fresh and consistent desire to know the Lord.

When I came to UT, I had the desire to be with other Christians because God's life within me was seeking other believers. Eventually, when I came to a Christians on Campus small group meeting with my friends, I was so excited to really enjoy the Lord with them. The thought that was running through my mind was that they had the same Christ that I had, and that they knew the same Lord that I knew. The more I attended the Bible studies, Saturday night college meetings, and small group meetings, the more I felt God's Word and His heart were being opened to me. I received a lot of light from the Bible that I didn't have when I read the Bible by myself. In the first mini-conference that I attended, I saw how God, from the very beginning, intended for us to “eat Him.” I had never realized this from John 6:57. I saw that I was made as a vessel to be filled with Him, and that I could eat Him daily by praying over His Word and calling on His name (Rom. 10:12). I was so excited that when I got home, I talked to my roommate the whole day about eating Jesus.

In the time that I have been a student at UT, my vision has changed. I realize that my college years are for the Lord, and that I am here to express Him. Every semester has had its pressures, but I have had the opportunity to be surrounded by brothers and sisters in the Lord who always lead me back to the enjoyment of Christ.
